Mariana Pinheiro de Almeida presents book ”Law of Essential Public Services – annotated and commented”

The company’s Legal Consultant, Mariana Pinheiro de Almeida, published, in co-authorship, the book “Law of Essential Public Services – annotated and commented”.
The presentation session, held at Almedina do Arrábida Shopping, was promoted by the Portuguese Bar Association and addressed the theme “15 years of essential public services: Problems and Challenges”.
Mariana Pinheiro de Almeida joined the company at the beginning of 2012. She currently holds the position of legal consultant at Legal Link, with university teaching, being a PhD student in Law and Sociology at the University of Coimbra
This initiative defines, once again, Legal Link’s strong investment in investing in secure legal solutions, where research and academic knowledge are fundamental.
The investigation and publication of works of interest are, by the way, one of the priorities of society at the present time.

SYNOPSIS
The present work is no more than Law No. 23/96, of 26 July, annotated. This law, known as the “Essential Public Services Law”, created in the Portuguese legal system some mechanisms designed to protect the user of essential public services. In order to ensure the balance of the parties in legal relations involving the provision of essential public services, users of these services are given various rights, from the right of participation by the organizations representing users, the right to partial discharge and the right to an invoice properly specify the values it presents; and service providers various duties: the duty to proceed in good faith, the duty to inform about the conditions under which the service is provided, the duty to comply with high quality standards and the duty to adjust the amounts charged , among others.
